Hey everybody here. I was just thinking of how a new user can be convinced to give it a try and use Locktrip marketplace for his/hers next vacation, business trip or short city break.
Needless to say, the top reason are the great savings that are possible when using LT. But usually this is not enough to really get someone involved with the idea of using something new and unknown. And when a real face to face interaction is initiated, the most common questions coming from the other side are "why is this platform better and cheaper than any big and popular OTA?", "How they achieve this?". And when "blockchain" comes in the conversation reactions are often - "this is a scam..", "I don't believe all those new and fancy tech startups", ..etc. Of course, here I am addressing all the people that are not familiar with the technical part of the project which is 99% of the customers we'll be addressing in our attempt to popularize the marketplace.
I would be happy to hear your ideas on how to shortly explain the importance of blockchain to this project and what the connection is.
I suppose any other interesting "sales" approaches on how to prove to common users the supremacy of Locktrip over other OTAs will be of great help to all the community. Thanks.
LockTrip has a lot of advantages over conventional marketplaces but one big disadvantage - lack of trust due to being unknown yet.
That's why affiliates are the perfect marketing strategy for LockTrip. As an affiliate you have the possibility to present yourself and your own experiences as a testimonial. People won't trust new technologies or even our marketing statements. But they will certainly trust YOU.
When you talk to someone about the highly competitive pricing, start by speaking about your own experiences. How much did you save when booking with us? What was the experience? Will you do it again? Can you recommend it?
Sounds too good to be true? Don't sell us as a perfect product - it will come along as rather scammy. Talk about our limits too. For example, not every inventory is cheaper. Some will be equal to booking.com while others may be 50% cheaper. It depends on what you pick.
Encourage people to try it out themselves. Find a destination where we have especially strong pricing and challenge the person to find a hotel that is more expensive than booking.com in that area. This will be even more effective once we introduce our discount score :)
Speak about your insipiration. Many affiliates are part of this because of the mission rather than the affiliate income. Why are you part of the movement? Do you trust the team and why?
Let your referral know that we have an active support service and that if they have questions, we will take the time to answer them in a 1:1 chat. Make sure to distinguish the project itself from the product. This is only important if they want to understand how everything works.
As others said, don't bring up blockchain unless specifically asked about. Speak about the product and the community we have. Each of our community members are a living testimonial to LockTrip.
Tell about rate parity agreements and search for a hotel. Show how the prices are aligned equally on various booking sites (try the hotel before, to be on the safe side)
Google shows the rates for different websites, which shows rate parity in action. Tell about how we bypass this with our login interface.
Hope these are helpful to you :) I am sure others will have more suggestions!
